A matrix is a rectangular arrangement or array of elements. The dimensions of a matrix, ${\displaystyle m\times n}$, identify how many rows and columns a matrix has. ${\displaystyle m}$ represents the number of rows and ${\displaystyle n}$ represents the number of columns.
