| 4. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) |
| |
| Q: How do I group multiple terms in the
numerator and/or denominator of a fraction, under a radical, or in an exponent? |
| A: Use parenthesis to group multiple terms.
For instance, (x+1)/(x-2) will group x+1
in the numerator of the fraction and x-2 in the denominator
of the fraction. The same technique can be used to group terms under a radical
and in an exponent. |
| |
| Q: How do I enter fractional exponents? |
| A: Use parenthesis to enter fractional
exponents. For example, x^(1/2) will group 1/2 in the exponent. |
| |
| Q: How do I enter in [a certain type of
problem]? |
| A: Please use the Example
Problems window to browse and generate example problems available
in each subject. |
| |
| Q: Why don't all of the Mathway features
work in my browser? |
| A: If some of the features do not appear
to be working, please activate JavaScript
in your browser. |
